Why the Traeger Pro 780 Was Popular
The Pro 780 paired the proven Pro Series cooking system with substantially more cooking space than the Pro 575. WiFIRE® app control made it easy to monitor long cooks, while the D2® system managed pellet delivery and temperature automatically.
It was particularly useful for larger family meals, multiple racks of ribs, brisket and batch cooking.
Pro 780 vs Pro 575
The main difference is cooking capacity. The Pro 780 provides 780 sq. in. of space, while the Pro 575 is the more compact option. Both use WiFIRE® connectivity and Traeger’s D2® platform.
Pro 780 vs Traeger Woodridge
The Traeger Woodridge is the replacement for the Pro 780. It is a newer-generation Traeger with a larger 860 sq. in. cooking area, EZ-Clean™ Grease & Ash Keg and updated accessory compatibility. Existing Pro 780 owners still have a capable WiFIRE® pellet grill, while buyers shopping new should consider the Woodridge as the current equivalent.
